The Making of Shadow and Bloom
Bold, wild, and sculptural. This loose watercolor study captures the striking elegance of the King Protea. I loved playing with the intense pigments here. Letting vibrant magentas, and soft rose-pinks bleed naturally into one another, grounded by muted, earthy greens. The subtle paint splatters add a wonderful touch of energy and movement to this majestic flower.
