At Coastal Dreamscapes, I believe that art has the power to connect people, inspire hope, and make a positive difference within our communities. That's why I am proud to support Ask for Jake, a local Braunton-based suicide prevention charity.
Nature has an incredible ability to bring moments of peace, reflection, and hope. These are qualities that I hope are reflected throughout my artwork.
Ask for Jake was established in memory of Jake, with the aim of raising awareness around mental health, reducing the stigma surrounding suicide, and ensuring that nobody feels they have to face life's challenges alone. Through fundraising events, community initiatives, education, and awareness campaigns, the charity works tirelessly to support the wellbeing of people across North Devon.
Their message is simple but powerful:
"You're not alone."
By encouraging open conversations around mental health, suicide, and providing support within the local community, Ask for Jake continues to make a meaningful difference to countless lives.
"As both an artist and counsellor, I believe that healing can begin in many different ways through conversation, through creativity, through nature, and through the strength of a supportive community."
I have been a volunteer with Ask for Jake since late 2022, and have been an active part in fund raising events and talk shops which are hosted every month to offer the community a safe space to talk and feel supported no matter what is happening in their lives.
As part of my commitment to supporting our local community, 25% of the profits from every Coastal Dreamscapes artwork and print sold will be donated directly to Ask for Jake.
Every purchase not only supports my journey as an artist but also helps contribute towards the invaluable work that Ask for Jake carries out across Braunton and North Devon.
Together, through creativity, compassion, and community, we can help make a difference.
